Quantitative electroencephalogram (qEEG) is a test that analyzes the electrical activity of the brain to measure and display patterns that may correspond to diagnostic information and/or cognitive deficits. It is used for the following clinical applications: evaluating effects of medications, predicting medication response, evaluating head traumas, assessment of cognitive and psychiatric changes, substance abuse, and in peak performance assessment and training. Recently, QEEG became very popular, and several studies supported its effectiveness in both evaluation and treatment of ADHD particularly after FDA Approval of EEG Aid for diagnosis of ADHD.
